OUR SOLUTION

The Zion Foundation

We believe that Solar PV and Battery solutions should be available to everyone...

However, we know that the high costs prohibit most people from the benefits that solar energy provides.

Determined to solve this problem we launched ’The Zion Foundation’, a charitable fund to close the gap between what people can afford and the price of the solar PV system they need.

The Benefits of Green

The recent energy and cost of living crisis has heaped financial pressure on those who were already struggling to stay afloat.

Figures for England, Scotland and Wales are based on fuel prices as of July 2023.

What the graph above shows us is that a Solar PV and Battery installation can be a solution to not only the climate crisis but also the solution to the financial struggles of many.

This can increase dramatically with the addition of a battery or with a larger system. For someone living paycheck to paycheck, this financial margin can be a real game changer.

This was highlighted in a recent survey showing that 61% of respondents would buy solar panels if money were no object but only 4% of UK homes generate energy from solar panels.

A small 10 PV panels system (3.5 kW) can save around £400 a year
*for a working household.

However, with no significant grants available for homeowners these benefits are locked behind the high barrier of large upfront costs.

The typical PV system costs around £6000 rising to £9000 or more with battery storage; no matter how good the benefits are this is simply unaffordable for the people who need it most.

The Role of The Zion Foundation

We believe that solar energy is the solution to us all taking back control of our energy bills while also creating a Greener, Cleaner Britain. We want to make this available to everyone. ‘The Zion Foundation’ is funded by a portion of the profits made by Zion Energy and the donations of those who share our aims.
As Zion Energy grows so does the number of people we can help.

The foundation works by subsidising or paying for the solar installations of homeowners, community buildings and charities that need to reduce their monthly bills but don’t have the money to pay for the installation. This allows them to spend their money on the things that truly matter; food for their families, running events for the community or helping people in need.
